Service Updates 14-17 March

Engineering works will be taking place on 14th, 15th & 16th March. On Friday 14th March, we will be operating a reduced timetable. On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March, Lumo services will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh only. For more details, visit our engineering works page. For live updates, please see our Twitter/X.

On Monday 17th March, we are expecting our 10:45, 12:18 and 14:48 Northbound services to Edinburgh to be extremely busy. If you don't have a seat reservation, you will have to stand. If you would like to travel on an alternative service, please contact Lumo.Reservations@lumo.co.uk

Tickets are available as an e-ticket in our app, LumoGo or downloadable via your booking confirmation email. As soon as you complete your purchase through the app or our website, tickets will automatically be delivered to your wallet in LumoGo.

what are train e-tickets?

E-tickets are digital train tickets that you can access through the LumoGo app or download as PDF files from our website. For extra ease, you can also store your tickets in your Apple or Google wallet via our app. Simply download the app, go to 'My Tickets,' and add your tickets to your wallet.

how do digital train tickets work?

Download your e-ticket from our website or directly to your Apple or Google wallet through our app. At the station, you will have to scan your e-ticket at the barriers to gain access. Make sure your phone is charged, as you will also need to show your tickets to our onboard Ambassadors and scan them again upon arrival at your destination.

With our app, you can keep all your tickets in one place. Additionally, e-tickets are an eco-friendly option, reducing paper usage.

FAQs

When you book directly with us, you can easily download your e-tickets via our website or the LumoGo app. To download from our website, simply sign in to your account, click on ‘Bookings’, and download your tickets as a PDF. If you prefer to keep your e-tickets on your Google or Apple wallet, you can download the LumoGo app.
If you can no longer make your journey you may receive a refund or eVouchers depending on your ticket type. For more details about our ticket types and refunds, please refer to our refunds page.

If you purchased a ticket with Lumo and experienced any disruption to your journey resulting in your service being cancelled and you did NOT travel, please claim a refund through our Refunds Portal.
Screenshots of e-tickets are not accepted and cannot be used to travel. If you are having issues accessing or using your tickets, please contact a member of staff.
If you have an e-ticket, you can open your ticket through your confirmation email or sign in to your Lumo account on our website, where you will find the e-ticket as a PDF file in the 'bookings' section. If you have the LumoGo app, simply open the app and go to 'My tickets'. Once you open your e-ticket or PDF file, you can scan the QR code from your phone at the ticket gate.
