A railcard is a discount card that allows you to save up to 1/3 off your train tickets – perfect if you are a regular traveller.
The majority of railcards cost £30 per year. However, this depends on the type of railcard and also the duration. Many railcards also offer a three-year option for £70.
While most railcards offer a 1/3 discount off your tickets, you can also enjoy 50% off your tickets with the 16-17 Saver or 60% off children's tickets with the Family and Friends Railcard. This will depend on the type of railcard you purchased.
You can use your railcard on off-peak times, weekends, and bank holidays, although this will depend on the type of railcard you have.
The 16-25 railcard gives you 1/3 off train tickets for just £30 a year or £70 for three years. This railcard is also available for mature students.
