Summer is here, and what better way to celebrate the longer and warmer days than by planning a trip to London? Whether it’s a last-minute trip with your friends, a fun family getaway, or you are venturing on your first solo trip to the capital, here are five events that you don’t want to miss:

1. London’s Pride Parade
When: 29th June
Where: Hyde Park Corner, London

Home to one of the biggest LGBTQ+ communities in the world, London has a great line-up of events to celebrate pride, including free live performances, DJ sets, and more! 
This year’s parade will start at 12pm at Hyde Park Corner, and run through Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket and along Pall Mall and Trafalgar Square, before culminating at Whitehall Place. While the main stage will be in Trafalgar Square, boasting performances from chart-topping popstars, LGBTQ+ activists, drag artists or community leaders, there will also be exciting performances showcasing across the city in five more stages located in Leicester Square, Dean Street, Soho Square, Golden Square, and Victoria Embankment Gardens. 2. View the Wimbledon Tennis Championship in one of London’s pop-up screenings
When: 1st – 14th July
Where: Multiple locations (London)

Even if you didn’t manage to secure tickets for this year’s Wimbledon tournament, there’s no excuse to not join the tennis fun! You’ll be pleased to know that London is full of free outdoor screen pop-ups broadcasting the games, including locations like Canary Wharf, Covent Garden, Hyde Park, and Kings Cross. 

3. Explore the exhibition ‘Expressionists:’ Kandinsky, Münter and The Blue Rider
When: until 20th October
Where: Tate Modern Museum

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of expressionism through the groundbreaking artwork of The Blue Rider – a community of artists including painter Wassily Kandinsky and photographer Gabriele Münter. 4. Watch your favourite artists at Field Day

24th August
Where: Victoria Park

Electronic music fan or not, Field Day is definitely a must see. This popular outdoor festival has been running for 17 years and selling out each time (and for a good reason!). 5. Enjoy a fun day out at Notting Hill Carnival

Come celebrate London’s diversity at Notting Hill Carnival – the city’s biggest street party! Taking place over the August bank holiday, this colourful event will bring fun to the whole family. Some highlights include traditional parades, soundsystems, and food stalls, offering traditional Caribbean treats such as Jamaican jerk chicken, Trinidadian roti, or Guyanese pepper pot.
