Christmas is fast approaching, and there’s nothing quite like the charm of Christmas Markets to get you into the holiday spirit! Join us as we explore some of the best Christmas markets along our route.

1. East Princes Street Gardens Christmas Market

Where: Edinburgh
When: 17th November – 6th January

Located in the bustling old town, this free Christmas market is a must-see when in Edinburgh. It features around 70 stalls from independent local and international traders, offering everything from handmade gifts to ornaments and delicious treats. 

While you are there, be sure to also check the Big Wheel, Scotland’s largest ferris wheel offering some of the best views of the city.

2. Newcastle Christmas Market

Where: Newcastle Upon Tyne
When: 16th November – 22nd December

We may sound a bit biased here, but Christmas is one of the best times to visit the toon. Whether you’re planning some last-minute shopping, want to enjoy some live music or sip on mulled wine, the Christmas Market in the city centre makes for the perfect festive day out.

Newcastle’s Christmas Market is free to enter and brings together an array of local traders and food stalls, selling a range of unique gifts, chutneys, jewellery – you name it! 

3. Covent Garden Christmas Markets

The iconic Covent Garden truly comes to life during the Christmas season. Admire the magical festive installations, with over 40 gigantic bells and bows, take a picture in Santa’s sleigh, or gift shop across over hundreds of your favourite brands. The atmosphere is enchanting, making it the perfect spot for holiday cheer!

4. Borough Christmas Market

Where: London
When: November TBC

No foodie should ever miss the Borough Christmas Market, and even less so for Christmas! Every November, Borough Market is decked out with lights, decorations, and festive ornaments. Local traders sell seasonal foods and organise a range of foodie-themed events, including the popular ‘An Evening of Cheese’. Trust us when we say this is heaven for food lovers looking to indulge in festive flavours.

5. Southbank Centre Winter Market

Where: London
When: November TBC

Every year around Christmas, London’s South Bank is transformed into a winter wonderland, bringing together local vendors, live entertainment, and international food stalls, serving up plenty of festive treats. It is a lively spot to soak in London’s holiday spirit!
